Rita Gunther McGrath wrote this book, and I am going through it now. I will be posting on this over the next several weeks, summarizing her main ideas and adding my own comments.
Why? A while back, I started looking for better resources for developing corporate strategy. Lafley & Martin’s “Playing to Win” was a big help. It laid out a series of iterative questions that can help a company formulate and implement strategy. It also suggests that re-thinking about corporate structure may be needed.
Prof. McGrath goes into this in a bit more detail. The key idea is how to elevate “reconfiguration” into corporate planning.
