The Guardian reports that in the UK, author incomes have taken a serious hit. If your ambition is to make a living by writing, the news is pretty bleak. But it is no surprise. This is just the latest tidbit of news from a longer term trend.
Does this mean that we won’t get good writing anymore? I think not. It means that if you want to write these days, you have to do more than just research and type. The 21st century is about connection. And writers need a connection strategy if they are going to get anyone to pay attention to what they do.
