DNA Diagnosis

DNA Sequencing has just been used in a novel way – to provide the diagnosis of an infection in a young boy where standard procedures had all failed. Things looked bleak for Josh Osbourne and this was done as a last resort. But it worked due to new software that

that rapidly compares DNA fragments with genetic sequences stored in online databases.

Pretty amazing.
