The Greek Yogurt Inflection Point

Not too long ago, folks argued with a straight face that consumers would not pay premium prices for organic food. They don’t any more. It is not because organic food has been proven to be better. It may or may not be. But a lot of people believe it is and so they pay more.

Which leads me to my underlying point in this post. Consumers are step by step starting to distrust processed foods. They are starting to think that this stuff can make you sick. That should be a wake up call to the processed foods industry.  But whether that industry wakes up or not, it is also the signal of an opportunity for companies who offer different stuff that appears to be more healthy. Like Greek yogurt. Like humus. Like bottled drinks that have no sugar.

I will be following this trend. Stay tuned!
