Is stress bad for you? If you believe this, you are in trouble. The reason is that the data shows that (1) we cannot avoid stress in our lives and (2) believing that it is bad for you makes stress unhealthy.

In fact, research shows that stress is physical preparation to help you cope with crisis. It is helpful. If you understand this, you can use stress to get beyond the crisis in front of you. All you need is the belief that stress is good. And not just good – it makes you more social by releasing oxytocin.
